We have made it to Stavanger! To say the weather is absolutely atrocious is an understatement but we are excited to be here. Today is the last day at a port so it is our last excursion. The bus ride was about 90 minutes but the seats were pretty comfy and our guide was incredibly informative!
Månafossen Waterfall Hike, Norway
We were set for this “easy” hike to see Månafossen and boy oh boy would I like to see what they consider a difficult hike in Norway! We ran into a group of 4th graders and their parents that were hiking up the mountain as well going camping for the weekend. Evidently this is a yearly tradition to start the school year in this part of Norway. It was just drizzling on the way up so it wasn’t awful but the straight slanted rocks were still slippery.
We made it to the first viewpoint which was only about a 30 minute hike! Most of the group turned around at this point but we decided to keep going and see how far we could go with the 2 hours that we had here. It was a beautiful trail but of course when we got to the furthest point it started to heavily pour down rain. We started our trek back but the rocks were so slick it took us double the amount of time and yes Taylor wiped out twice! A teenage girl also wiped out and we helped her back down to the bus.
We were soaking wet and tired so we headed straight to the room to shower and take a nap. We skipped the new Fantastic Four movie tonight because we wanted to just rest before dinner. We were back at Animator's Palate tonight and it was draw your own character night which is always fun! We did the game shows and headed to bed after to get a long night of sleep.
Back at sea tomorrow!
Ben :)
