We got up and off the ship quite early to make sure we didn’t miss the shuttle to London Heathrow! We still have never gotten the Chip & Dale bag tags but Taylor always takes a picture with the sign! We made it on the coach and were on the way.
We got there pretty early so we decided to grab a little breakfast at the airport. I’m not going to lie, these pancakes were up there with the best ones I’ve ever had. We also saw this little robot going around cleaning the floors in the terminal which was cool! Of course our flight was delayed but that was a-okay since we had no connections.
We were off to Shannon, Ireland! It’s very interesting that Galway is one of the biggest cities in Ireland but their airport closed a few years ago. The fields and grass were so green as we flew over about to land. Once we were on the ground we got through customs very quickly and had to catch a 90 minute bus to Galway.
Hotel and Dinner in Galway, Ireland
We arrived in Galway and our hotel was a 2 minute walk from the train station the bus dropped us off at! The hotel is over 150 years old and has a very vast history ranging from having royal visitors to being used to house soldiers during World War I. The hotel is located at the enter of Eyre Square which is a quaint little park in the middle of Galway.
We walked just across the square to Gatto Rosso for some authentic Italian cuisine! They had a wood fire pizza oven which was really cool! Taylor got pasta al forno and I opted for the parpadelle alla boscaiol. We both loved our food and were excited they had lemon Fanta! Shockingly we passed on dessert cause we were so full.
Off to rural Ireland tomorrow!
Ben :)
